One of MAURER's global projects is the Roland Garros project located in Paris.

The project covers an area of 13.5 hectares and consists of 20 tennis courts. One of the main features of the tennis stadium is that matches can be held without any postponements, even during the heaviest rain. The stadium is equipped with a retractable roof. MAURER has installed special dampers for this roof. The goal is for this roof to respond immediately to the slightest vibrations and to operate quietly without creating noise.

As seen in the pictures, this stadium has 11 beams on the roof that open to ensure waterproofing during rain. However, this system must open and close with minimal noise to avoid disturbing the tennis players. Additionally, noise generated by wind on this steel structure also needed to be mitigated.

MAURER has utilized two different systems for this project. One is TMD (Vertical Vibration Dampers), and the other consists of 20 bearings (elastomeric, spherical, and lifting bearings).

In summary, these systems ensure that metal fatigue in the structure is eliminated, longevity is guaranteed, the retractable roof operates at minimal noise levels, and seismic safety is provided.
